Actor Needed for Suicide Prevention Study

Forefront, a suicide prevention nonprofit based in the School of Social Work, is looking for an Asian male to volunteer to act in a video, playing the part of a suicidal student. We are conducting a research study to determine whether online or in-person suicide prevention training is more effective for UW faculty/staff. This video will form the key component of the assessment that faculty/staff will take after they have completed the training. Faculty/staff will view the video of the student actor expressing suicidal ideation and will be asked how they would respond. The IRB application specified that the student in the video be an "Asian male," hence the request. The dates that the film crew is available are:

Monday afternoons:

Wednesday mornings:

The time commitment would just be a couple of hours. If you or someone you know would be willing to volunteer as an actor, please reply to Lauren Davis <, or 425-495-7122> ASAP! No acting experience required. Please forward this message widely to anyone who might be interested.
