The Health Equity Circle students are hosting a listening event on 1/29 at 6:30. We are working hard to get any and all UW community members to attend to talk about their neighborhood pressures in small groups. We will bring the discussion points from these small conversations to the larger Sound Alliance entity (10,000’s of members) for their discernment – a process they use to decide what actions to work on for 2015. This is a huge opportunity to surface our local pressures for other, larger, more powerful entities to take on.
I am doing a direct ask of you to attend and ask any of your UW colleagues to attend. I have included language below and the flier. Thank you for your enduring support!
Health Equity Circle Listening Campaign
· Are you having trouble accessing affordable housing, healthcare, or childcare?
· Are rising tuition costs making your head hurt?
· Are you or your family members at risk of deportation?
· Are institutional and systematic oppressions wearing down on you?
By attending our listening, you have a chance to shape the campaigns that our broad-based community organizing partner, Sound Alliance, will pursue this year.
6:30 – 7:20 PM
*Light refreshments and snacks will be provided
