Vista Cafe in the Foege Building on Wednesday, October 15 at 5:30pm.
Health Equity Circle is an interdisciplinary group within the UW and greater Seattle community working to address the social determinants of health. Some of our past projects include helping to develop a UW course on African American health and health disparities, holding community organizing workshops for students, and visiting Olympia to advocate for health care services in our state. This year, we are planning campaigns around Health Literacy, initiating a Community Organizing Course, Homelessness and Encampment health, Health Access Seattle, Accessibility and the Affordable Care Act and Cross-Cultural Curriculum in the Medical School.
The general assembly on October 15 is an event for our whole community to come together and discuss health equity issues they are passionate about. We will enjoy food and beverages, explain HEC’s progress this past year, and invite members to sign up for our current campaigns.
