The Seattle Human Rights Commission is looking for an intern to help raise public awareness on the State’s pending proposal on a new Fish Consumption Rate and Cancer Risk Level. Industry claims that a higher FCR with a low CRL will be cost prohibitive and impracticable here. Oregon recently revised their FCR and CRL and industry is experiencing a net zero effect. We would like to organize a fall panel highlighting Oregon’s experience implementing the more protective FCR and CRL. This will be in follow up to a June panel highlighting the human rights perspectives on the issue. If you are interested in interning with the Commission, we would like 3-4 hours per week of your time, and we’re happy to assist you in getting course credit for this through the University. You will be provided with work space and close advising.
