ABRCMS (Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students)
Abstract and Student Travel Award Submission Deadline: Sept. 5th
If you have been conducting research with a faculty member this year, please read below about an opportunity to present your research at a national conference. The abstract submission deadline is September 5th, so if you’re interested you need to act quickly.
The Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS) is the largest professional conference for minority students in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines. ABRCMS invites abstract submissions from students in 12 discipline categories, including Social and Behavioral Sciences and Public Health.
This year’s conference will be held November 12th – 15th in San Antonio, Texas. During the four-day conference, over 1,500 students will participate in poster and oral presentations.
If you have been working on a research project with a member of faculty this year, first contact your faculty to discuss this opportunity. If you both agree that presenting at ABRCMS is a good idea, then you can submit your abstract through the ABRCMS website: http://abrcms.org/
Abstract Submission: Deadline September 5th
Funding: ABRCMS Travel Award: Deadline September 5th.
There is also additional funding from the UW’s School of Public Health. You should plan to apply for both sources. You should apply for the ABRCMS Travel Award when you submit your abstract. Deadline for the SPH Awards is Sept. 4th. For more information, please contact the Public Health major at firstname.lastname@example.org
