The University of Washington chapter, Student National Medical Association (SNMA) is committed to supporting current and future under-represented in medicine students, to addressing the needs of underserved communities, and to increasing the number of clinically excellent, culturally competent and socially conscious physicians.
We work closely with the University of Washington’s Minority Association of Pre-Health
Students chapter. MAPS is an undergraduate organization whose purpose is to provide underrepresented pre-med students with knowledge, skills and experiences that are both prerequisite and concomitant to professional participation in health care fields.
Additionally, they aim to improve minority matriculation into health care fields.
